If Michigan football is going to make the College Football Playoff, or earn a fifth-straight win over Ohio State, the Wolverines are going to need a healthy Rod Moore.

Michigan football did beat Ohio State without Moore in 2024, after the star safety, who sealed "The Game" in 2023 with a clutch interception, tore his ACL in spring ball in 2024 and missed the entire season.

While the defense was stout down the stretch for the Michigan Wolverines, holding Ohio State and Alabama to a combined 23 points, it would have been even better with the eraser in the middle of the field.

Moore is one of the best safeties in college football, at least he was when healthy. If Moore had entered the 2024 NFL draft, he would have been at worst, a day-two pick. Many experts projected him as a first-round pick prior to the 2024 season.

Rod Moore is getting closer to 100 percent

That's because the former three-star recruit from Ohio, who was ignored by the Buckeyes, can do it all. He can play nickel cornerback, is comfortable near the line of scrimmage, is incredible at eliminating the deep ball, and is just an all-around impact player.

So when Michigan football fans saw the video posted by Moore, of him running on ground for the first time in 14 months, it was hard not to be encouraged and excited.

Moore doesn't look 100 percent quite yet. But running is a positive step in the right direction, and according to Sherrone Moore, the Wolverines expect him to be ready for the 2025 season.

As Moore posted with his video, thank god.
