Davis Warren has had some good moments playing quarterback for Michigan football this season, but he hasn't had enough and the bad moments are starting to outweigh them.

Warren made some nice throws against Arkansas State. The Wolverines got the running game going and Warren was able to push the ball down the field with play action. He connected with Fred Moore and Marlin Klein down the field. He also threw three interceptions before being taken out.

The first interception wasn't entirely his fault. Donovan Edwards went to the wrong side on a play fake and then missed a block. Still, Warren didn't have to force a pass that was easily intercepted.

Things getting worse at quarterback for Michigan football

Then, right before the half, Michigan football had the ball inside the 30 when Warren just threw a really poor pass. There was some pressure and his elbow might have been hit, but it's hard to tell.

Either way, Warren threw another interception and forced another pass into double coverage that was picked off in the third quarter. At that point, he got pulled. Warren was 11-of-14 for 111 yards when he came out of the game in favor of Alex Orji.

Orji led a touchdown drive but only threw one pass which was a nine-yard touchdown. Orji has two touchdown passes this season but hasn't shown any ability to throw downfield. Warren has shown that ability, however, he's thrown six interceptions in 2.5 games. That's unacceptable.

At the same time, Orji hasn't completed a single pass beyond the line of scrimmage. When he tries to throw, you can see why the staff wants to play Warren. You also see when Orji runs why it makes sense to have him on the field in some capacity.

Either way, Michigan football is in a tough spot at the quarterback position and things feel like they are just getting worse as Big Ten play is about to begin.
