Michigan football got plenty of criticism for its non-conference schedule 2022 and 2023. However, it will be tough for the same argument in 2024, as the Wolverines are set to play one of the most difficult schedules in all of college football.

Two of the four playoff teams are on the schedule for Michigan football. The Wolverines will play a conference game against Washington in a rematch of the national championship game, while Texas, which lost in the semifinal to Washington, will come to Ann Arbor on September 7th.

We already know that Michigan football and Texas will be on Big Noon Kickoff. It will also feature two of the three cover guys for EA Sports 'College Football 25.' Michigan football running back Donovan Edwards is one of the players on the cover along with Quinn Ewers of Texas and Travis Hunter of Colorado.

Ewers and the Longhorns will travel to Ann Arbor for a key non-conference game, similar to the Alabama-Texas game from 2023. Michigan will have a new starting quarterback and mostly a new starting offense as Colston Loveland is only returning starter.

However, Michigan should be pretty salty, especially with what most believe is one of the best defenses in college football. Ewers, who was on the Ohio State roster in 2021 when the Wolverines ended their losing streak against Ohio State with a 42-27 win, said “It’ll be my second time up there, so I’m excited to get back up there,” Ewers said at the Manning Passing Camp. “Defending champs, it’s gonna be a great environment, lot of people. It’s gonna be a good time.”

Ewers also said he understood the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry that the game between Michigan football and Texas would "mean a lot."

“The Red River game’s always one of my favorites every year,” Ewers said. “Like every rivalry game, they’re all heated. They all mean a lot to each program and all the fans. It’s cool to be a part of games like that, especially coming from Ohio State. I understand that rivalry. Going up there, it’s gonna mean a lot.”

Hopefully, this trip goes just like the last one for Ewers and his team leaves Michigan Stadium with a loss.
