Sherrone Moore: Michigan football is in 'a really good place'

A lot has been said about Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore and his deleted texts with Connor Stalions but he addressed the issue head on Tuesday.

The NCAA recently leaked a draft notice of allegations about Michigan football and the headline was that Sherrone Moore deleted text messages between himself and Connor Stalions.

Because of that, Moore could be facing a suspension according to reports from ESPN. However, there was one caveat that was less widely reported -- the NCAA still got the text messages. Moore recovered them from his deleted inbox and turned them over.

I speculated that there was nothing damaging in the text messages. Why? If there was, the NCAA would have leaked that information because it wants Michigan football to look as bad as possible.

However, on Tuesday, Moore addressed reporters and said that Michigan football was "cooperating with the NCAA investigation" and that he "look(ed) forward to them (texts) being released."

People can try to spin that anyway they want, but there is nothing there and it just shows how far the NCAA is willing to make Michigan football look bad. It's a vendetta and it's obvious to everyone but Michigan State and Ohio State fans too and probably James Franklin.

Moore did say that Jim Harbaugh wouldn't be able to make it back for the Fresno State game. He called Sherrone Moore said he wanted to be with the Chargers. The decision to have him be honorary captain was also made back in January, Moore said, and had nothing to do with recent events.

Moore also addressed the quarterback situation and said there wasn't a clear starter at this point. He also pointed to the development of freshman running back Jordan Marshall and said the top-100 freshman who signed in the 2024 class can be "dynamic."

Lastly, talking about Michigan football fall camp, Moore said things have been "phenomenal." He also said Michigan football is in a "really good place."
