A forgettable Michigan basketball season continues on Wednesday night as the Wolverines welcome Wisconsin to Ann Arbor.

The 11th-ranked Badgers are 16-6 overall. They have lost two in a row, falling to Nebraska last week in overtime and Purdue. They are still 8-3 in the Big Ten and have an incredibly talented backcourt led by AJ Storr and Chucky Hepburn. Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl are also a dangerous tandem inside.

Michigan basketball will have point guard Dug McDaniel. That will help. Michigan has played well at times, at least in the first half, but the second half has been a struggle and it will be interesting to see which team shows up after another collapse on Saturday.

The 7-15 Wolverines are in last place in the Big Ten. They are 2-9 in conference play and have lost nine of their last 10 games. Tarris Reed and Olivier Nkamhoua are a solid tandem inside but Michigan just haven't had the depth and talent to compete with most of the Big Ten.

Terrance Williams and Nimari Burnett have had their moments, but the one thing lacking from Michigan basketball is 40 solid minutes. They haven't been able to do that all season and it's hard to see it coming together tonight.

Michigan basketball vs. Wisconsin prediction

I expect the Wolverines to be competitive into the second half. That's been their MO. But they don't have the depth or the fortitude to knock off the Badgers and it will end with Wisconsin winning, plus covering the spread.
