It's always good when the Michigan Wolverines beat the Ohio State Buckeyes and on Saturday, the Michigan women's basketball team gave us something to celebrate.

Thanks to a clutch fourth quarter, Michigan notched a 69-60 win over the 17th-ranked Buckeyes. It was the second Big Ten game for Michigan women's basketball. Ohio State has been a thorn in the side of the Wolverines in recent years, but Lalia Phelia had a career day scoring 26 points.

We graded the Michigan women's win over Ohio State, plus we look ahead to the next big game for the Wolverines coming up this week.

Lalia Phelia put together one of the finest outings of her Michigan basketball career with 26 points. She hit a 3-pointer in the fourth quarter that along with two layups from Lauren Hansen sparked a 9-0 run that broke a 51-51 tie. The Wolverines made enough plays down the stretch to wrap up the win, which will help their NCAA tournament resume.

Michigan got just 17 minutes off the bench, but the Wolverines needed a win and erased a three-point deficit to start the fourth quarter to get it. Hansen scored 17 points and had four assists, plus two steals. Michigan was listed among the first four out according to ESPN's bracketology, but that should change this week.

What's next for Michigan women's basketball

The Wolverines have just one game on the schedule this week against Indiana on Jan. 4. The Hoosiers are another stellar opponent and are currently projected as a top-four seed in the bracketology from ESPN.

The road game will be a huge opportunity for the Wolverines to add to their resume and also stay undefeated in the Big Ten. Tip-off is set for 7 PM EST in Bloomington on Thursday. The 16th-ranked Hoosiers are 1-0 in the Big Ten and play on Sunday.
