For the second year in a row, it was a rough outing for Michigan basketball at the Jumpman Invitational. The Wolverines went 0-2 last season in men's and women's basketball and did the same thing this season as Florida defeated the Michigan women's basketball team on Wednesday night.

The Wolverines were able to salvage a 1-1 record this week. Michigan women's basketball is 10-3 overall and here's our grade for the past week, as well as a look at what's ahead.

Grading Michigan women's basketball: Week of 12/17 - 12/24

Michigan women's basketball hung with Florida during the first quarter and the score was tied 19-19 after one. However, the Gators doubled up the Wolverines in the second stanza, 26-13. After that, U-M was never able to recover and dropped the game 82-65. Florida shot 9-of-17 from 3-point range against the Wolverines. Michigan also made eight triples, with four of them coming from Lauren Hansen. She finished with a team-high 21. Laila Phelia connected twice from downtown but was 6-of-17 from the field on her way to 17 points.

On Friday, Michigan women's basketball hosted 1-8 Florida A&M and made quick work of the Rattlers by a score of 77-35. The Wolverines were bolstered by a 22-3 run in the second quarter, as well as an 18-6 advantage in the third. Hansen had another strong outing for U-M, making 5-of-9 shots from beyond the arc to finish with 19 points. Elissa Brett added 15.

The Wolverines have a chance to add to their resume next Saturday with a huge game against Ohio State. The Buckeyes are ranked 12th right now in the AP poll but could drop after a 77-71 loss to second-ranked UCLA on Monday, although you wouldn't think far.

Ohio State is one of the top-scoring teams in women's college basketball. They are 19th in the country in points per game and have three scorers averaging double figures led by senior guard Jacy Sheldon, who averages 19.1 points per game along with three assists. She shoots 43.4 percent from 3-point range and averages 1.9 triples per game.

Michigan women's basketball and Ohio State will meet next Saturday (Dec. 30) at noon EST. The game will be shown on Fox.
