Rating players and teams for video games is never perfect and we saw that once again with the release of the top-ranked offenses and defenses for EA Sports 'College Football 25'.

The new college football video game will be the first released since the 2013 season, and comes out on July 16th for the people who purchased the MVP edition. Yet, EA Sports released the offensive and defensive rankings for the game and left Michigan football fans a little miffed.

The Wolverines ranked seventh on defense in EA Sports 'College Football 25.' Many people believe that the Wolverines might have the best defense in college football with Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, and Will Johnson leading the way, plus an elite pass-rushing tandem of Derrick Moore and Josaiah Stewart.

Only Ohio State and Georgia rank higher in terms of ranking but it seems strange to have those teams are 94 and 96 but Michigan football rated as a 90. However, depth could be a concern and Michigan's bench players probably aren't rated as high.

The Wolverines offense didn't crack the top 25, which was more understandable. Still, with one of the best rushing attacks in college football, it was justifiable to put U-M among the top 25, especially when teams like Virginia Tech are cracking the top 25.

The Hokies actually had a top-25 offense and defense, which is interesting. I get that Michigan lost 10 starters on offense, plus rankings aren't perfect but Michigan football deserved a better ranking on offense and defense.
