Michigan football shooting its shot with elite 2026 QB
There are a lot of misconceptions about Michigan football recruiting. The Wolverines haven't landed as many five-star recruits as one might expect after a national championship and three straight Big Ten titles, but the NIL era had a big role in that.
All the uncertainty surrounding head coach Jim Harbaugh also didn't help. Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore is going to be in charge for a long time and the Wolverines are building some serious momentum in the 2025 class after landing a second top-100 commitment on Friday, which was also the second commitment of this week.
Another thing about Michigan recruiting is that even though the Wolverines missed on guys like Dante Moore and Bryce Underwood, quarterback recruiting has gone fairly well with Carter Smith committed in the 2025 class, plus four-star Jadyn Davis in the 2024 class.
Brady Hart visiting Michigan football
Both players ranked in the top 160 overall in their respective classes. Now, the focus has turned to the 2026 class and one of the top targets is Brady Hart. The four-star quarterback from Cocoa, California is 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and ranked seventh among quarterbacks. He's also ranked in the top 100 overall.
Michigan was viewed as a top contender after Notre Dame took another quarterback, Noah Grubbs. However, Hart visted Clemson last weekend and picked up a crystal ball to the Tigers. This weekend, Hart is in Ann Arbor for a multi-day visit.
There is plenty of time for Michigan football to make its move. This visit will be important though and the Wolverines at least need to reverse some of the momentum that Clemson built last week.
