Laila Phelia earns First-Team All-Big Ten, plus women's bracketology

The Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team is still on the NCAA tournament bubble as the Big Ten conference tournament opens on Wednesday. But the Michigan women's basketball team got positive news as point guard Laila Phelia was named First-Team All-Big Ten this week. The junior averaged 16 points per game this season along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Michigan will play in the second round of the Big Ten women's tournament on Thursday. The Michigan Wolverines are among the last four teams projected to get a first-round bye in the women's NCAA tournament, meaning they are among the last eight teams in the field.

So a win or two would be a huge for Michigan women's basketball this week as the Michigan Wolverines look for their sixth straight NCAA women's basketball tournament appearance.
