Michigan football down a bunch of starters vs. Washington; Will Johnson is questionable
Going to Seattle and beating the Washington Huskies was always going to be difficult for the Michigan football team, but once the Wolverines released their injury report, we realized how difficult the task could be.
Two of the Wolverines best players, Will Johnson and Josaiah Stewart were each questionable throughout the week but Stewart wasn't even on the injury report. Johnson is listed as questionable officially, which means essentially he'll be a game-time decision.
Facing a potent pass offense, losing Johnson could be a deathblow for Michigan football, especially if the offense isn't able to muster anything more than it has the past few weeks.
Speaking of the offense, there are guys missing there too. Myles Hinton, the starting left tackle is out, along with Dominic Giudice. That means that Greg Crippen will be the starting center for the Wolverines, which won't upset some fans.
However, there are more players missing on defense such as another elite pass rusher Derrick Moore. That means Michigan football won't have its full array of pass rushers. It also won't have Ja'Den McBurrows, which will leave the secondary very thin if Johnson can't go.
At the end of the day, Washington won't feel sorry for Michigan and if Johnson can go, the Wolverines definitely have enough to win the game. Even if not, this isn't a time for excuses.
However, it doesn't make the job any easier for a coaching staff that already had its hands full this week trying to figure out how to win as an underdog on the road.
