An Alex Orji Masterclass

In my opinion, there are two major things needed for the Wolverines to have a good chance at repeating. First, and hands down most importantly, Alex Orji must make significant strides and become a championship caliber quarterback.

We already know that Michigan football will have one of, if not the best, defenses in the country. They've got elite talent at every position and should keep the Wolverines in every game. But defense is only one-half of the equation. The Wolverines need to put up points to win games, meaning Orji needs to develop into a great quarterback.

He's got the physical traits to be elite, but he's going to have to put everything together in terms of throwing the ball and making good decisions. The Michigan offense is going to look very different under Orji. I'd expect something similar to what Alabama ran with Jalen Milroe; lots of runs and a handful of deep shots.

Michigan football also has an elite offensive weapon in projected first-round pick Colston Loveland. Loveland is going to be the top weapon in the passing game and should put up huge numbers. With there being rumors that elite cornerback Will Johnson could see some time at wide receiver like Charles Woodson did, quarterback seems to be the lone unknown in the offense.

Good to great quarterback play, combined with the dominant defense we expect Michigan to have will put the Wolverines in a great position to compete for a title.
