Michigan Football: 3 things we need to see vs. Washington
By Nick Popio
2. No homesick mentality
Historically speaking Michigan football has not fared well on the left coast. The last time the maize and blue were in Husky stadium in 2001, they lost. In fact they haven't won in Seattle in 54 years. This matchup will not include the 23 combined players who were selected in the 2024 nfl draft. However, Washington's fall from grace has been more reeling through the first month of the fall season then Michigan's.
Washington's offense hasn't scored more than 24 points over the last three weeks, which is what the Wolverine defense has allowed in the last two wins. That may be the magic number for Alex Orji and his offensive teammates to eclipse to get the win. In their two losses though, the Huskies are averaging close to 485 yards a game on offense. Texas poured in a whisker under 400 a month ago in the Big House.
After winning a national championship over this same school, nerves shouldn't be an issue for those who participated in the event. This is a game to lean on guys like Myles Hinton, Josiah Stewart and Makari Paige, depending on if they all play or not. Luckily their replacements have played a decent amount of football with them being injured or getting rest on the sidelines.
