3. The thin Wide Receiver Room

Another wideout just entered the portal on Wednesday leaving Michigan football with just three players who saw meaningful action in 2023. Perhaps we'll get to see another powerful performance by Peyton O'Leary again. Coach Ron Bellamy's group is waiting for a breakout performer or will look elsewhere for immediate help.

There's got to be a Daylen Baldwin type of playmaker out there who wants to join Michigan football and continue their success for the team and personally as well. Kyle Ford joined the mix, but has never lived up to the five-star hype. That's okay. Michigan doesn't need a superstar in a run-first offense with Donovan Edwards and Colton Loveland being the focal points. They just need a body that can line up and stretch the defense every now and then.

More names will show up and you'd have to expect them to take in one or two pass catchers from the portal before it closes. It will be interesting to see if they use Channing Goodwin right out of the gates. He's kind of built in that Cornelius Johnson type of mold. KeAndre Lambert Smith or Tyler Williams would be a solid complement to what the Wolverines already have at the position, but they'll probably be looking for a big paycheck instead.
