Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the Minnesota win

When you win like Michigan did on Saturday there are plenty of overreactions to account for. Here's three of them from win number 1,008.

The little brown jug will remain in Ann Arbor until 2026. Alex Orji made one poor throw and the outcome of the game changed in an instant. With a little help from the refs too, the special teams got a second chance to seize the win. Now Michigan football must learn from it and keep the current Big Ten winning streak alive.

Here are three of the overreactions from Michigan's final home game in a month.

1. Warde Manuel should have considered hiring Kalen DeBoer over Sherrone Moore

The couch critics were out in full force after Saturday's win over Minnesota. They were screaming for DeBoer and offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan to be Michigan football coaches. Alabama was mopping the floor with Georgia until they lost the 28-point lead and nearly blew it. My argument is to say that this is an overreaction.

Don't forget that Moore has beaten Penn State, Ohio State and USC without Jim Harbaugh and company. As unsightly as it looked on Saturday, Michigan is right about where they should be heading to Washington. They could be 2-3 right now and things would be much worse. Instead they have a chance to go into the bye week at 3-0 in the Big Ten. Not many would have said that before the USC win.

There's no guarantee that DeBoer would have even been interested in the job anyways, but Moore had a clause in his contract that he was going to be the next coach regardless.
