Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the 2024 NFL scouting combine
By Nick Popio
3. Michigan football record of 18 participants is tainted
Critics will demean Michigan football any way they can and spew that this is just another senseless overreaction. They'll make excuses that Zak Zinter wasn't able to work out or that Josh Wallace was a fringe choice to be there in the first place, not to mention that LaDarius Henderson was nowhere to be found on Sunday.
The point is mute and Michigan football broke the record for the most players ever. How many of them get drafted is another story for draft weekend. These are proud, added accomplishments that happen when you build the proper program to emulate. That's exactly the way Lincoln Riley wants USC to build their program into.
With spring practice looming Sherrone Moore must grow on that. He's got his coaching staff in place and his quarterback battle will take center stage. Recruiting and the transfer portal just have to fall in place and the Wolverines will be right on pace to replicate the success that they have enjoyed over the last three years, now that they are the hunted.
