Mchigan basketball takes on Michigan State tonight and you would hardly know it. There isn't much excitement on the Wolverines side of things, because it's been a dismal season.

The Wolverines have lost eight of their last nine games and the last time they went on the road against Purdue, things got ugly. Dug McDaniel won't play tonight due to his suspension. Upsets are always possible and it's about the only thing that you could make you feel good about this miserable season. Michigan is 7-13 overall and sitting in last in the Big Ten.

Michigan State is 12-8 overall and 4-5 in the Big Ten. The Spartans have won three of their last four games and they can't afford a loss to Michigan, which would be considered a bad loss. The Wolverines will have the chance to play spoiler tonight at the Breslin Center and here's all the key info needed for Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State.

Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State odds

According to DraftKings Michigan basketball is a 12-point underdog against the Spartans on Tuesday night. The over/under is 145.5 and the money line is +550 for Michigan and -800 for MSU.

Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State prediction

The Wolverines will be without Dug McDaniel and Jaelin Llewellyn will be the starting point guard. That didn't go all that well against Purdue. The Spartans force 12 turnovers per game and against a Michigan team without any proven ball handlers, it's going to be tough.

I'd expect the Spartans to pressure and try to get some easy buckets. Michigan State gives up more 3-point attempts than 2s. The Wolverines are going to need to keep the turnovers under 10 and they need to knock down a bunch of shots. Nimari Burnett, Will Tschetter, Terrance Williams -- all of those guys need to knock downs shots.

It's hard to see the Wolverines winning though. They'll keep it close but they don't have the depth to stick with the Spartans for 40 minutes and MSU will pull away late.
