Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State: Odds, prediction, and how to watch
This has been the most difficult Michigan basketball season I can remember. There were some dark days but this season has taken the cake, particularly after a 3-0 start.
It seemed like the Wolverines were going to exceed expectations at the start of the season, following the road win over St. John's. However, things fell off drastically. Then, when Dug McDaniel got suspended for road games, the wheels fell off.
Michigan basketball has trailed by at least 30 points in each of their past three road games. Yet, the Wolverines have beaten Ohio State and Wisconsin at home. McDaniel will be back in the lineup today and knocking off the Spartans would take the sour taste out of everyone's mouth for at least a day.
The Spartans are a solid NCAA tournament team. Joe Lunardi has them as a No. 7 seed in the latest bracketology, but this is the kind of game you don't want to lose if you're trying to improve your seeding. Juwan's teams have struggled against MSU, but the Spartans haven't beaten him at home yet, and here are the odds, how to watch, and a prediction.
Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State odds
The Spartans are a six-point favorite as the road team tonight, which shows how far the Wolverines have fallen. The over/under is 144.

Michigan basketball vs. Michigan State prediction
It's still hard to believe that Michigan basketball is 8-17. That's something I never saw coming. We could talk about the keys to winning but much of this will be about contesting shots, getting back in transition, and keeping Michigan State off the offensive glass.
The Spartans are quality team. They have won seven of their last nine games. Dug will have to be stellar tonight and so will Tarris Reed. Olivier Nkamhoua needs to out-play Malik Hall and the Wolverines need to get hot from the perimeter.
I believe this team will battle, but Tom Izzo will get a win in Crisler, signaling a new low for the Juwan Howard era with Michigan basketball.
