Mason Graham snubbed as Michigan football players are named preseason All-Americans
The preseason All-American teams are being released by all sorts of publications. Phil Steele is one of the big names but so is Walter Camp, a publication which has been putting out an All-American team for 135 years.
Michigan football was well represented on the team, as it has been on all the preseason All-American teams, but once again, Mason Graham was snubbed as a first-team selection.
Will Johnson, the standout cornerback, was one of the Michigan football players selected as a First-Team All-American and so was tight end Colston Loveland. Mason Graham who didn't make First-Team All-American on Phil Steele's team either, was a second-team selection.
Mason Graham should be motivated
There are plenty of great players out there and nothing against Ohio State defensive tackle Tyleik Williams, but I think Mason Graham is the best defensive tackle in college football. Some have suggested he would have been the first defensive tackle off the board in the 2024 NFL draft if he was eligible.
Graham can do it all and that's what makes him so dominant. He can essentially be a nose tackle and also an elite interior pass rusher. He also just tends to blow things up, like he did in overtime against Alabama. The Tide has first-and-goal and on second down, Graham stuffed them for a huge loss.
That changed everything on that drive and put Michigan football in a position to get the stop to win the game. At the end of the day, these Preseason All-American teams don't mean anything. But they could be motivating to Mason Graham who took notice on social media when Pro Football Focus rated the Ohio State D-line as better than Michigan's.
Either way, I can't wait to see him work and like all other Michigan football fans, I wouldn't trade him for any defensive tackle in the country.
