Fall camp for Michigan football is fast approaching and according to Alejandro Zuniga of The Michigan Insider, practices will start on July 31, one month before the season starts.
The Michigan Wolverines will begin their national title defense on August 31 against Fresno State and will kick off the 2024 season in earnest at the end of July as camp begins.
Right now, players are going through summer workouts and a key storyline when fall camp does get underway in two weeks will be the starting quarterback competition. Alex Orji might be the leader right now but it still feels wide open.
Jack Tuttle is a name to watch. The sixth-year veteran was a four-star recruit coming out of high school, just like Orji, and has starting experience in the Big Ten. Davis Warren is another name to know in the Michigan Wolverines quarterback competition but my money is still on Orji.

In another bit of news that concerns Michigan football, outside of the release of EA Sports College Football 25 on Monday (more on updated rosters), it was reported that Jeff Tedford, the head coach at Fresno State has stepped down due to mental health reasons.

That's significant for Michigan football because the Michigan Wolverines will open the season against Fresno State. The Bulldogs will be led by interim head coach Tim Skipper.
