Rod Moore is already a Michigan football legend. He's been an exceptional player during his three seasons with the Wolverines and the safety from Ohio also has a 3-0 record against Ohio State.

When Moore was recruited, I was pounding the table that he was going to be a steal. He had an obvious knack for finding the ball and he's shown that repeatedly, such as when he called game in "The Game" with a game-clinching interception.

Moore helped Michigan football win its first national championship since the 1997 season and while he won't be available for the season opener or maybe at all this season due to a knee injury, Moore was still elected by his teammates as a captain for the Wolverines, for team 145.

Michigan football captains announced

Michigan football announced all four captains on Thursday. Joining Moore on the defensive side of the ball as a captain is fellow senior Makari Paige, who is a multi-year starter at safety.

Paige might be the most underrated player on the Michigan football defense. He's a dude with an NFL future that often gets overlooked.

It was good to see Paige get his due. Moore too. The fact that he's not playing but is still voted as a team captain tells you what kind of leader he is.

Offensively, Donovan Edwards and Max Bredeson are the two captains. Edwards is one of the cover athletes for College Football 25 and I expect him to have a massive season for the Wolverines. Bredeson is a tight/fullback and another exceptional leader.

However, as a Michigan football fan, you have to happy for all these guys, but especially Edwards and Moore.
