Michigan football has picked up a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail, but on Tuesday, there were a couple of recruits who started trending in the wrong direction.

One of them is four-star defensive lineman Maxwell Roy. The 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive lineman ranked in the top 300 overall according to the On3 Industry Rankings, out of New Jersey, visited Michigan football this past weekend. The blue-chip prospect was in Columbus the weekend before that.

It felt like the Wolverines maintained their lead after some earlier expert projections but EJ Holland of The Wolverine, who was one of the first to project Roy to Michigan football, flipped his pick to Ohio State which now has a 76 percent chance to land Roy according to the On3 prediction machine.

Another four-star recruit trending away from Michigan football

Running back Jordon Davison who is ranked in the top 100 in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He visited Michigan football two weeks ago and Ohio State this past weekend but according to a report earlier on Tuesday from Steve Wiltfong of On3.com, Davison was down to Michigan and Oregon.

The Wolverines just landed two running back commitments over the past two weeks, but U-M would take Davison if it's able to get his commitment. However, Wiltfong put in an expert projection in favor of the Ducks, which is a change from Ohio State, which was the leader according to the On3 prediction machine.

Things can always change as we saw with Roy, but these are two you can probably cross off the board for Michigan football.
