More offensive playmakers emerge

Michigan football needs the quarterback -- Alex Orji or whoever else -- to be a playmaker. But that's easier when they are surrounded by other playmakers.

The Wolverines lost some really good ones from last season including Roman Wilson who just had a knack for matching a big catch every single time Michigan football needed it (see the Rose Bowl and Ohio State).

Cornelius Johnson was clutch too. And of course, Blake Corum was as good a running back as Michigan has ever had. But Donovan Edwards is still around and I wouldn't be shocked if he became a Heisman contender this season.

Long story short, after hearing about the emergence of Tyler Morris and Semaj Morgan this fall, plus the positive rumblings about CJ Charleston, a Youngstown State transfer, I have hope that the passing game will be just fine. Colston Loveland is going to be the No. 1 target and the big-bodied tight end should be a perfect security blanket for Alex Orji.

Marlin Klein is another name to watch at tight end, while I'Marion Stewart and Channing Goodwin have also made positive impressions as freshmen at wide receiver. Of course, Amorion Walker transferred back to Michigan football and there's hope he can provide a deep threat.

Overall though, I feel good about the offensive weapons, especially since Morris is drawing a lot of comparisons to the guy who used to wear No. 8 -- Ronnie Bell.
