5 things to watch for Michigan football vs. Washington in CFP National Championship
The underrated Michigan pass offense
This game will likely end up featuring two first-round draft picks at quarterback. But people seem to forget that about J.J. McCarthy.
The former five-star recruit fulfilled his destiny last week with the key fourth-quarter drive. That's why he came to Michigan. But the Wolverines aren't going to win this game without another solid performance and frankly, McCarthy should be licking his chops.
Washington has allowed 269 passing yards per game and an average of 1.6 touchdowns per game. McCarthy passed for 227 yards and three scores against Alabama. He wasn't perfect by any means, but J.J. always rises to the occasion and this isn't the Alabama pass defense, which many believed was the best in all of college football.
I think Michigan has a case to make there, but the Wolverines pass offense found success against Alabama and I think the Huskies should be just as worried about McCarthy as the Wolverines are about Michael Penix Jr.
