Will Johnson has a great game

I don't know if Will Johnson will be matched up with Rome Odunze one-on-one throughout the game but I'm sure there will be plenty of times that he's covering the elite wide receiver.

Johnson has been matched up against Marvin Harrison Jr. the past two seasons and more than held his own. Even when he left the game against Ohio State, Michigan found a way to limit Harrison. Mike Sainristil is another sensational player and he's going to make a big impact too.

But if you were betting on who would win the matchup between Johnson and Odunze on Monday night -- I'll take Johnson. He's that good and that's going to be an out-pitch for the Wolverines. If you can use him to solo up the No. 1 wide receiver, you can devote more numbers elsewhere which will make this defense hard to beat.

Michigan football vs. Washington prediction

As much as I didn't like the matchup against Alabama, I really like the way this one sets up for the Wolverines.

Washington hasn't seen a defense quite like Michigan's. In fact, in terms of total pass yards allowed, this is the first top 50 unit they have seen this season. Beyond that, Michigan matches up well with the Washington defense. The Huskies have struggled against the run and the pass and no defense ranked this low has won the national title since 1950.

Washington has an elite offense, but Michigan's offense is elite too. Just in a different way. The defense is elite too and defenses win championships.
