Donovan Edwards makes impact as a receiver

I've been disappointed in the lack of usage for Edwards as a receiver. I want to see some wheel routes or the options routes that everyone loves to throw on Madden.

Even though Alabama is one of the most athletic teams in college football -- they don't have linebackers or even safeties that can cover Donovan Edwards one-on-one. It's one of the few matchup advantages the Wolverines have on offense, so they have to take advantage of it.

My hope is that Edwards has a game like the one vs. Maryland as a freshman, when he went over 100 yards. That might be a stretch, but the talent is there and McCarthy has a great connection with him. Whether it's deep balls, option routes, swing routes, or wheels, I want to see Edwards targeted as often as any receiver.

I don't think that wish will come true. But I do see Edwards catching multiple passes for more than 20 yards on Monday. The five-star is going to five-star.
