Now that the spring transfer portal window has closed, Michigan football can go on the offensive after having to worry about player retention since the departure of Jim Harbaugh.

It was impressive work from Sherrone Moore. NIL has taken a big step forward which helped them retain their players. Now, the Wolverines are trying to supplement the roster. Michigan seems interested in D-line help, the secondary, and wide receiver. It has added two wideouts already but here are five perfect fits for Michigan in the transfer portal.

Terrance Brooks, CB, Texas

Michigan has the best cornerback in college football in Will Johnson, but it needs another proven starter and maybe two additions at the position. DJ Waller took a step forward this spring but left for Kentucky.

Jyaire Hill is another up-and-coming defender for the Wolverines. He's 6-foot-2 and he looked like a player during the spring, but you don't want to be just one injury away from having an issue, which is where Michigan finds itself right now.

Brooks entered the portal after 19 starts in the past two seasons with Texas. He's a rising junior and had three interceptions last season along with six passes defended. Brooks isn't going to be easy to land but Michigan football is in the mix according to Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider and there's talk of Brooks taking a visit to Ann Arbor.

If that happens, I'd call Michigan a true contender.
