5 bold predictions for Michigan football against Arkansas State
O-line prevents a sack
This is only a bold prediction because the offensive line has been terrible through two weeks. Sherrone Moore said that if the offense is going to get right, it starts with fixing the offensive line.
As bad as things have been, I still trust Moore and Grant Newsome on the development side of things. These guys are going to get better. Will Evan Link be a functional Big Ten offensive tackle by the of the season? I don't know, but guys will improve.
And we'll see that Saturday, albeit against an Arkansas State team with just 2.5 sacks in two games, against Central Arkansas and Tulsa. So I'm going to say the offensive line pitches a shutout in terms of sacks, but again, that's not saying all that much.
Still, after what we saw the last two weeks, it would be a progress.
Michigan football vs. Arkansas State score prediction
I'm not under any delusion about this Michigan football team. It's flawed, much more flawed than any of us probably wanted to realize or admit.
The good news is that Arkansas State is even more flawed. They don't have the talent to hang with Michigan and if they do, then yes, it will be time to hit the panic button.
However, we'll get a reprieve for at least a few hours as Michigan will look mostly competent in a 38-10 win that still feels a little unsatisfying.
