3 predictions for Michigan football defense in 2024
Michigan will lead the Big Ten in interceptions again
Last season, the Wolverines led the Big Ten with 18 interceptions. Ohio State had just seven. Of course, with Mike Sainristil playing in the NFL and Rod Moore injured, it won't be easy to lead the Big Ten in interceptions again but Will Johnson is back and is 100 percent.
Will Johnson had seven interceptions the past two seasons and he wasn't healthy last year. It will be fun to see Will at 100 percent. I'm also excited to see what Zeke Berry does. He might not be Mike Sainristil but Michigan football coaches believe he can be an All-American.
Jyaire Hil has taken a big leap forward and Aamir Hall has drawn plenty of comparisons to Josh Wallace. Michigan's three linebackers -- with Jimmy Rolder in the mix -- are also pretty solid in coverage and the pass rush will lead to rushed decisions and enough interceptions to lead the Big Ten once again.
