During the middle of July, many ideas and plans are running through our minds. One idea that some college football fans may think about is the opening day of their favorite college team. This article will highlight three enticing matchups that Michigan football will encounter this season.

Week 2 vs Texas (September 7, 12 pm)

Many NFL scouts from various teams will be attending this game. Quinn Ewers, Will Johnson, and Mason Graham are all outstanding athletes that experts believe will be drafted within the top 12 picks in the 2025 NFL draft.

When two elite programs play a nationally televised game, expectations are high for both schools to produce a quality win. Viewers are anticipating a great football game. This win could benefit one school's resume by elevating their strength of schedule ranking towards the end of the season. The Wolverines' defense will face a highly efficient offense in this matchup. If Michigan football wins this game, the team could move up in the rankings and use the momentum of this victory to instill team confidence.

Week 9 vs Oregon (November 2, TBD)

Oregon has one of the best defenses in the Big Ten. Jabbar Mohammed transfers from Washington to Oregon; Mohammaed can play corner or safety. Jordan Burch returns as the second-leading tackler from last season. This defense has experience all over the field. Many publications believe Michigan football has the best defense in the Big Ten. During this part of the schedule late in the season, team cohesion and offensive play-calling structure have been established. In this game, the Wolverine offense has to showcase efficiency to ensure a victory.

Week 12 at Ohio State (November 30, 12:00 pm)

This contest is the biggest game on the entire schedule because of the hatred between both schools in this rivalry. Michigan football has defeated Ohio State three times in the last three seasons. A win in this game secures bragging rights and a four-game winning streak versus the Buckeyes; both occurrences would give the Wolverine fan base pure happiness. Each season this rivalry matchup garners national attention. If the Wolverines have a 10-win season and win this game, they could produce a Big Ten Championship appearance.
