Buzzer-beaters seem to be treading in the Big Ten right now, as, for the second night in a row, a game ended on a buzzer-beater three-pointer. On Wednesday night, Tre Holloman of Michigan State hit a shot from beyond the half-court line to save the Spartans from going into overtime vs. No. 16 Maryland.
Michigan on the other hand, needed their shot to win the game. With 3.6 seconds left on the clock, Michigan inbounded the ball down by one point, they need a shot, any shot to take the lead, or potentially get fouled to get to the free throw line.
The ball was inbounded to Danny Wolf, who took one dribble trying to get to the basket but realized there was no lane. So he passed it to Nimari Burnett, who already had 17 points on the night, and Burnett threw up a three-pointer, practically from the logo, and sunk it at the buzzer to give the Wolverines the lead and the win.
The crowd erupted, and the Michigan team flooded the court to celebrate with Burnett. In real-time and in replays, this shot is just amazing, but this new angle from a fan sitting high up in the Crisler Center shows just how far this shot was and how clutch Burnett is.

Burnett was easily four or five feet behind the three-pointer line when he put the shot up, showing range like NBA star three-point shooter Steph Curry. Burnett looked a little like Iowa legend Caitlin Clark throwing up a logo three with such a fast release and sinking it so perfectly.
This was a huge win for the Wolverines, who are still in stride with Michigan State, who, of course, won their game on Wednesday. Michigan, going forward, just needs to win and focus on getting that Big Ten regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
