You probably aren't alone if you didn't expect to hear about the flag planting in Columbus last November during Big Ten Media Days, but Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore said the Wolverines will not be planting any more flags, in Ohio or otherwise.
Sherrone Moore: "There'll be no more flag planting, no more grabbing the flag."

Said the new tradition after a win is to shake hands, go celebrate with the band together, and leave after the other team leaves
"There'll be no more flag planting," Moore said on Thursday via Zach Shaw of The Michigan Insider. The new tradition will be to shake hands and celebrate with the band.
This should prevent what we saw in Columbus last season, when Ohio State players took issue to Michigan celebrating on the field, and planting the flag, after a second straight win at the Shoe.
Bryce Underwood isn't the starter yet
Moore made sure to point out that Michigan still has an "open competition" at quarterback. The Michigan head coach praised freshman Bryce Underwood. He even said he's over 230 pounds, but the five-star freshman won't be handed anything.
Mikey Keene is getting healthier, according to Moore. He's throwing now, and if anyone could push Underwood for the job, it would be him.
Derrick Moore calls out Ohio State national title
Senior defensive end Derrick Moore, one of the top returning players on the Michigan football team heading into the 2025 season, called out Ohio State's national title in 2024.
Moore congratulated the Buckeyes on their national championship, but he also said, "It's not a real championship if y'all didn't beat us," and "We know if the playoff expansion wasn't around, they wouldn't have won the national championship," Moore said via Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider.
Buckeye fans may not like it, but it's the truth, and it was maybe the best Michigan football comment on Big Ten Media Days.
