It was clear on Saturday night that Justice Haynes' injury is serious. The Michigan football running back was in a walking boot, confirming the rumors that had been swirling on the internet.
On Sunday, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported that Haynes will undergo surgery this week. Zenitz reported that there is still hope that Haynes will be able to play this season. However, that is becoming increasingly unlikely.
There are three weeks to go before the Ohio State game. It feels like it will be tough to make that game, and unless the Wolverines are in the College Football Playoff, we might have seen the last of Justice Haynes in a Michigan football uniform.
Jordan Marshall has been stellar in his absence. Marshall has three consecutive 100-yard games, including 185 yards (210 total) against Purdue. Marshall is fourth in the Big Ten in rushing yards.
