Football season is so close that fans should start taking out that tailgate equipment and practicing those touchdown celebrations. With only weeks left until the first games of the season, it is easy to miss the smaller pieces of news that come out of fall camp, so here are a few things that might have slipped through the cracks this week.
Kyle Whittingham gives update on how Michigan is handling Rod Moore and Johns Henry Daley coming off injury
Both safety Rod Moore and John Henry Daley are both coming off season-ending injuries last year, but both are already 100% healthy and back at fall camp with Michigan. Moore is coming off an ACL tear that happened back in 2024, and after only playing three games in 2025, had to shut it down due to lingering problems and having to clean things up in his knee.
Daley is coming off a ruptured achilles tendon back in November of 2025 when he was still with Kyle Whittingham at Utah. Now, both are fully cleared to practice, but Whittingham and his staff are choosing to err on the side of caution and work through this slowly, saying both are still limited in practice.

However, the coaches are not trying to rush them into action and still on a snap count.
Both players will be ready to go by Week 1, but it feels like the right move to hold both players back just a little to keep them fresh for the season.
4-star QB Kaden Craft sets commitment date with Michigan in his Top 6
The time for recruiting is never over, especially with 2028 recruits starting to set visits and commitment dates. Four-star quarterback Kaden Craft has set his commitment date for August 17, with six schools remaining at the top.
Michigan is battling Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Florida for Craft's commitment. The four-star quarterback is the No. 108 player in the class of 2028, the No. 8 quarterback in his class, and the No. 4 player in North Carolina, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
Michigan only has one commit in the Class of 2028 so far, and that is Ryan Jung, the No. 1 kicker in the recruiting class. Craft could be a great addition to Whittingham's class, one that will be a big one for him after his first full season with the Wolverines.

The leading wide receiver for Michigan last season is starting to get some preseason watch list love. Andrew Marsh was big for the Wolverines and quarterback Bryce Underwood last season, finishing with 651 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns in his freshman campaign.
Now, heading into his second year at Michigan, Marsh has already been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list for the most versatile player in college football. This is big for Marsh, who is expected to have a big year for the Wolverines, especially with an ever-growing connection between himself and Underwood.

The offensive line could be one of Michigan's deepest positions, but the matter of who will be the starters is what offensive line coach Jim Harding has the tough job of figuring out. The left tackle position is one of the closest battles right now, with Andrew Babalola and Blake Frazier in a tight race, but Whittingham just added another player to the mix.

Evan Link is also a part of this battle for the position he held last season before going down with an injury. Link came back to Michigan for one final season, and it seems Whittingham and Harding want him to be part of this battle as well, making it even more intense.
