Yet, the Wolverines dispatched of 11th-ranked Oklahoma, thanks to a spectacular defensive effort, despite very real predictions that the Sooners would hang 52 points on the Wolverines.
That wasn't just one person either (Brandon Walker). So what does all that mean as Big Ten play begins? Not much, other than the fact that the Wolverines put themsleves in the best position possible to make the playoff after three games.
It won't matter if Michigan doesn't beat Iowa at home Saturday. If that happens, unless there is an upset of Indiana or Ohio State, the Wolverines can probably kiss a playoff berth goodbye.
Iowa is ranked 17th. The Hawkeyes had over 400 yards rushing last week, but were held to 93 yards against Iowa State in a 16-13 win. QB Hank Brown has been impressive. The entire Iowa offense has been, although the schedule has been weak.
The Hawkeyes haven't played a defense like Michigan's or an offense with as much talent as the Wolverines, even if it has been a struggle at times to move the ball.
