All week, Michigan football fans were begging for the Wolverines to open up the offense and allow Bryce Underwood to be Bryce Underwood.
Well, the coaching staff appears to have heard the call. Or maybe it was just obvious that it was the right thing to do, but in the first half against Central Michigan, the Wolverines offense looked entirely different.

Underwood was involved in run plays and not just scrambles. There were designed runs, including one that turned into a 20-yard touchdown run thanks to a stellar lead block from Max Bredeson.

At the half of a 35-3 game that Michigan football leads, Underwood has completed 13 of 21 passes for 211 yards and one touchdown to go along with one interception.
The freshman quarterback got a little greedy. He threw a deep ball when there was a man open underneath that led to an interception. Yet the aggressiveness is something you have to love, especially after the conservative approach by the Wolverines against Oklahoma.
In addition to the 211 passing yards, Underwood also rushed for 86. He had runs of 28 yards and 20 yards. That's 297 total yards from the Michigan football starting quarterback. The Wolverines scored 35 points and even used some trickery to get Andrew Marsh, another freshman, a touchdown on a reverse that covered 23 yards.
Underwood has been fun to watch with his legs; however, the five-star quarterback is dropping dimes, too. Six different Michigan receivers caught a pass of at least 15 yards in the first half.

We'll see if this offense translates to next week, but for one half at least, Michigan football fans got the offense they have been waiting for.
