Michigan's punishment from NCAA will come soon, hammer still not expected

Michigan football should learn its punishment from the NCAA should, possibly this week.

A final decision on the punishment for Michigan football concerning the Connor Stalions investigation into allegations of advanced scouting could be coming this week.

This is according to Josh Henshcke of the Maize and Blue Review, who posted a new update on the NCAA investigation on Wednesday.

It's not exactly new to report that a decision is coming soon. It's more like confirmation. The 2025 Michigan football season is starting in less than three weeks, and if Sherrone Moore is going to be suspended, a ruling has to come down at some point before the season.

According to Henschke, the same punishments of a huge fine, show-cause penalties for Jim Harbaugh and Stalions, as well as some minor recruiting restrictions, are on the table. Even some of the rival reporters who have made it their existence to push a false narrative that Michigan is getting "the hammer" have started to speak the truth that no wins will be vacated, and there will not be a postseason ban.

The rules Stalions has been accused of breaking, without a ton of evidence, at least that's been made public, are minor. All of the allegations against Michigan are minor, except for a supposed lack of cooperation, as well as repeat offender status, which is the issue with Sherrone Moore. However, the only thing that made him a repeat offender was a prior recruiting violation, as well as deleting text messages that were still turned over when the NCAA asked for them.

Michigan didn't cheat its way to the national championship or four consecutive wins over Ohio State. The Wolverines were just better. They had a generational coach and a team with generational talent.

Michigan doesn't deserve any further punishment, especially considering the suspension already served by Harbaugh. But this last minor punishment should be the end.

And the announcement should come this week or at least very soon.
