JJ Buchanan is going to be an absolute stud this season for the Michigan football team.
Of all the players acquired via the transfer portal, he might end up being the biggest difference maker, although John Henry Daley, who confirmed on Monday that he will return for football activities on June 1st, will have something to say about that.
Buchanan is a beast, though. His last three games with Utah were off the charts. He had at least one reception of 29 yards in each of them. He had at least 65 yards in each of those last three games with 50 percent of his 427 yards coming in that stretch.
On Monday, Buchanan was meeting with the media for the first time. While there are plenty of reasons to be excited about him, the Michigan football receiver also gave fans even more reason to be excited about the futures of Andrew Marsh and Bryce Underwood, as if they weren't excited already, by offering up some predictions about the two Wolverine sophomores.
JJ Buchanan predicts a "huge leap" for Bryce Underwood
Of Marsh, his fellow wide receiver, who had 46 receptions for 651 yards as a freshman, Buchanan said he "will be in the league" someday. That was evident last season. Marsh was one of the most productive receivers in the Big Ten, but it's good to hear he's looking good this spring.
Michigan football fans are most curious about Bryce Underwood. His development will be critical for the Wolverines if they want to be a College Football Playoff team in 2026. So far, the spring has gone well for Underwood, according to players and coaches.
Buchanan, one of his newest targets, predicted that Underwood "will take a huge leap" this season. That's music to the ears of Michigan fans, because if Underwood does do that, this offense will be scary good.
And this team, under Kyle Whittingham, will be one of the best in the Big Ten.
