Three different Michigan football running backs rushed for over 100 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns in the same game last season.

Two of those running backs entered the transfer portal. One of them, Bryson Kuzdal, is coming back, according to Isaiah Hole of Wolverines Wire.

Kuzdal is one of many Wolverines to enter the portal but return to the program, joining Jake Guarnera, Andrew Sprague, Zeke Berry, Jordan Young, and Enow Etta. That's a pretty rare thing, and in the case of Kuzdal, it provides even more depth to an already deep running back room.

Bryson Kuzdal adds insurance to Michigan football's running back room

Some Michigan fans have been worried about the departure of Justice Haynes to Georgia Tech. Yet, it was hard to see Michigan being able to afford Jordan Marshall and Haynes, as well as five-star freshman Savion Hiter, who should get plenty of touches next season.

Hiter could be among the most impactful freshmen in college football on the offensive side of the ball. Marshall can be RB1. Hiter can take the role of RB2. Taylor Tatum, the former top-100 running back who rushed for 278 (5 yards per carry) yards as a freshman for Oklahoma, will also be in the mix.

Yet, Taylor is coming off a season-ending injury. It's hard to know what to expect. Kuzdal is a former walk-on who had 76 carries for 326 yards this season (4.3 per carry). He rushed 20 times for 81 yards in the Citrus Bowl against Texas. He also had 100 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start, plus 53 rushing yards in a come-from-behind win over Northwestern.

That's a nice player to have in the running back room, which is now anything but thin.
