A year ago, Michigan football star Will Johnson was being talked about as a potential top-five NFL draft pick.

Injuries and some long-term health concerns caused Johnson to fall out of the first round. He only played in six games last season, even though he did have two interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Yet, the Arizona Cardinals took a chance on Johnson in the second round, and just five games into his NFL career, Johnson looks like THE steal of the 2025 NFL draft.

Will Johnson is dominating in the NFL

So far this season, Johnson is second in the NFL in terms of his PFF grade which is 84.5. He's got five pass breakups, which leads the NFL. Opposing passers are rated just 63.4 when passing against Johnson and have just a 53.3 completion percentage.

Johnson has done all that in his first three games. He actually had three pass breakups in the win over New Orleans to start the season. The 6-foot-3 cornerback who helped Michigan football win the national championship in 2023, had a perfect record against Ohio State during his career.

Johnson has three interceptions returned for a touchdown during his Michigan football career. Yet, his most impactful interception came in the third quarter of the national championship game against Washington, although his first-quarter interception against Ohio State in the 2023 edition of "The Game" was another play that will live on in Michigan history.

Johnson has missed two games for Arizona, so health will be an issue. But, he's broken up a pass in each NFL game, and right now, it's clear if Johnson can stay on the field, he will be elite.
