Michigan football closed out its 2025 recruiting class with a huge win on Wednesday, landing the commitment of elite offensive lineman Ty Haywood. Haywood, a top 50 prospect out of Texas, joins an offensive line group that includes five-star Andrew Babalola among others. Haywood is listed at 6-foot-5, 285 pounds, and is ranked 42nd overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings for the 2025 class.

Michigan football committed to investing heavily in the offensive line after the struggles it went through in the 2024 season, and the final addition to their 2025 class emphasizes that. This is a huge win for the Wolverines, who will enter the 2025 season with arguably the most momentum in the nation.

Breaking down the addition of Ty Haywood for Michigan football

Even with his elite talent, it seems unlikely that Haywood will make an early impact next season for Michigan football. It's tough for a freshman to make it onto the field at offensive line, and even tougher when it looks like the Wolverines already have a star offensive tackle in the makings in Andrew Sprague who started and played well against Alabama. It's possible that Haywood could move to offensive guard, but that remains to be seen.

What's non-debatable is that Michigan football closed out the 2025 class in elite fashion. The Wovlerines are going to finish with the 6th ranked class in the nation, an amazing mark for Sherrone Moore's first season. Things look good in Ann Arbor as we embrace the offseason.
