The final target in Michigan football's 2025 star-studded recruiting class, Ty Haywood, is set to commit and sign with a school on Wednesday, the 5th. While Haywood recently lost his five-star status, he is still ranked as a top 50 player and is one of the best offensive linemen in the nation. Michigan has had the full-court press on Haywood for about two months, and all signs point towards Haywood choosing the maize and blue on Wednesday.

In the NIL world, however, nothing's done until pen hits the paper. While Michigan football is the clear favorite at the moment, it's impossible to rule out a desperate team making an absolutely massive offer for Haywood. Even though the Wolverines have taken a very aggressive NIL approach with Haywood, the Wolverines are smart with their spending and won't spend an outrageous amount if another school were to come in with an offer.

Michigan football seems like solid favorite to land Ty Haywood

Luckily, that appears unlikely. Schools have had months to entice Haywood with their offers, and Michigan has stood above the rest during that entire period. Haywood was recently on campus in Ann Arbor and there is nothing to suggest that he will commit to a school not named Michigan. Sherrone Moore and Sean Magee have done a tremendous job with Haywood.

Assuming the Wolverines land Haywood, Michigan football will end the 2025 cycle with the #6 recruiting class in the nation, an excellent feat for Sherrone Moore, especially considering the late start that Michigan was dealt due to coaching changes. The last time Michigan landed a top 6 recruiting class was in 2017. The future is bright in Ann Arbor.
