If every Michigan football player had the attitude of tight Marlin Klein, the Wolverines might not need to worry as much about who the next head coach should be.

At least in terms of player retention.

That's been one of the biggest things driving the Michigan football head-coaching search. The Wolverines want to get a new head coach in place as soon as possible to please the recruits and the current roster, which will have 30 days to transfer once the head coach is hired.

According to Klein, it doesn't matter. In the first meeting of players with the media since Sherrone Moore was fired last week as the Michigan football head coach. His replacement hasn't been determined yet. It feels like it will be Kalen DeBoer or Kenny Dillingham.

However, Klein said via Alenjandro Zuniga of 247 Sports on Friday that "he'll never transfer." The 6-foot-5 tight end said he would either enter the NFL draft or return to play for Michigan football. He's a senior but has one season of eligibility left and hasn't made a decision.

Klein caught 20 passes for 209 yards this season. He also caught one touchdown. The tight end was hampered by injuries this season, as were many on the Michigan football roster.

Getting him back with another head coach would be huge. He's a solid blocker, and paired with guys like Zach Marshall and Hogan Hansen, assuming those guys are back on the roster, would be formidable.

Regardless of what happens next, Klein will play in the Citrus Bowl for Michigan football, you know the football game in 12 days everyone seems to have forgotten about.
