The transfer portal opens on December 9th and when it does, things are going to get crazy in college football. Michigan football is expected to be among the most aggressive teams in terms of adding talent.

Yet, they are having to deal with losses too. Four players have entered the portal this week and you can make that five with punter Tommy Doman announcing that he will leave via the transfer portal too, a few days after a fine performance against Ohio State in "The Game."

In terms of portal additions, the Wolverines are playing the NIL game now and just signed the No. 7 recruiting class. Andrew Olesh is still out there and if he sticks with Michigan football, instead of flipping to Oregon (a decision is supposed to come Friday) the Wolverines will have signed six top-100 recruits with Ty Haywood, a five-star Alabama commitment at offensive tackle still a very real possibility.

Michigan football could sign three five-star recruits and seven in the top 100 overall, as well as 15 in the top 299 according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

A new deal for Michigan AD Warde Manuel

Michigan football hasn't recruited like that for a long time and one man that deserves some credit is Warde Manuel. Michigan fans have ripped him but he hired Dusty May, got the best out of Jim Harbaugh, and is allowing the NIL floodgates to open.

He also signed a five-year extension this week. Now that he's not standing in the way of NIL, I have no problem with it. May and Sherrone Moore seem to be getting all the support they need so I'm glad to see Manuel stick around.
