Michigan football has more than 50 official visits scheduled this summer. One of the most important will be from five-star EDGE, according to On3.com, Carter Meadows.
Out of Washington, D.C., Meadows is one of the intruiging prospects in the entire 2026 recruiting class. He's ranked 34th overall according to the On3 Industry rankings. However, On3's own rating system has Meadows ranked which feels more accurate.

The 6’6 235 EDGE from Washington, DC is ranked as the No. 6 Recruit in the ‘26 Class (per On3)

ESPN has Meadows ranked 240th, which is insane. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound pass rusher has freakish ability, and on Friday, he narrowed his recruitment down to four teams: Michigan football, Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina.
Michigan football leads according to On3 prediction machine
There aren't any crystal ball projections for Carter Meadows yet. There haven't been any expert projections logged for the On3 recruiting prediction machine either.
However, On3's RPM still gives Michigan football a 40 percent chance of landing Meadows. That's a higher percentage than any other program. Penn State is in second.
This is largely based on visits. Michigan football and Penn State have each hosted Meadows multiple times for visits. Penn State is the leader with three. Michigan has had him on campus twice since October.
Meadows also has an official visit scheduled to Ann Arbor for June 20th. Ohio State, Penn State, and South Carolina don't have official visits locked in, but the five-star did visit the Buckeyes and Gamecocks in April so those are probably coming.
The Wolverines have had an EDGE or defensive end drafted in each of the last eight NFL drafts. Three of those players: Aidan Hutchinson, Kwity Paye, and Rashan Gary have been selected in the first round.
Michigan football has also had multiple players in the second and third rounds. The Wolverines are in a good spot here, but they have struggled to close with 2026 recruits.
Meadows recruitment will be another test of that.
