Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the Indiana loss
By Nick Popio
Michigan football went toe-to-toe with one of the four remaining undefeated teams in the country and wound up a yard short from extending the game. If it wasn't for their defense, then Michigan would have been just another victim of the Indiana offense. The Hoosier defense was put in precarious positions and forced the Wolveriners to kick it on three of their four scoring drives. One more touchdown for the Wolverines would have been the difference, but they were denied.
Now here are three of the most outrageous overreactions from around the web.
1. Zeke Berry sucks
In the first half Berry gave up a touchdown and looked overmatched. He was running from behind and letting Hoosier receivers past him. In the second though, he made a lot of people look silly. He had an interception of Kurtis Rourke and a couple of nice pass breakups. Berry played his best half of football on Saturday. He's now tied for the team lead in interceptions with Will Johnson.
That makes this an overreaction from the social media coaches. Berry is learning on the fly filling in on the outside, where Johnson would normally be. That has moved Wes Walker into the lineup to play some slot.
On the other side of things, Jyaire Hill returned to the field and got burnt on a long touchdown pass in the first, but found his footing with the rest of the defense in the third quarter and beyond. The duo held Rourke to a season-low quarterback rating of 44.3. He also had negative 28 yards on the ground, mostly due to the four sacks by the line.
