The 2025 recruiting cycle is just about over, with the late signing period set to begin in February. Michigan football is set to finish with a top 10 recruiting class, with plenty of star power on both sides of the ball. It's not crazy to predict that Michigan's 2025 class could end up with 4+ first round pick caliber players.

Now, not all of the future stars in the 2025 class will have a major role in 2025. But who will? Let's look at three freshman poised to make a major impact in 2025.

1. Bryce Underwood (QB)

This should come as no surprise, but Bryce Underwood is set to make a huge impact on Michigan's 2025 roster. While he may not start the first game of the season given the addition of veteran transfer Mikey Keene, most expect that Underwood will be the starter by the end of the season. The question seems to be how early will Underwood take on that role.

That's not a jab at Keene at all; Underwood is just a generational talent who is going to see the field regardless of who he's competing against. This is Underwood's team, and he is going to determine their floor and ceiling. I'm not sure if there's ever been a freshman in Michigan football history who could make the impact that Underwood could.

Expect the beginning of the season to play out similarly to 2022 when Cade McNamara and JJ McCarthy were battling for the starting job. Each got their opportunities, but ultimately everybody knew it was just a matter of time before JJ took over. The big question will be who plays more when Michigan football travels to Oklahoma for a week two matchup.

Underwood was obvious, but who else is going to make an impact in 2025?
