Everyone has their opinions, but some opinions don't always have to be shared, and that tends to be said a lot about college football talking head Paul Finebaum. Typically, Finebaum will stay in his SEC lane and then get proven wrong yet again when a Big Ten team wins the National Championship, as they have the past three years.
Well, here we are again talking about something Finebaum said, but this time it has to do with Michigan fans. When doing an interview with Brooks Austin on "The Film Guy Network," Finebaum was asked who the most annoying fanbase to deal with is.
Finebaum was quick with his answer about Clemson fans, and honestly, he isn't wrong. After a few great years of success, the Tigers are yet again irrelevant, but Finebaum didn't stop there. He went on to take a shot at Michigan fans, one that was completely uncalled for.
"Michigan fans, they’re not worth the time," Finebaum said. "They think college football revolves around them, and they’ve won, I think, two-and-a-half national championships in 70 years, and they cheated to get the last one.”

Finebaum was really quick to say that Michigan fans aren't even worth the time to talk about them, but he then went on to talk about them anyway. Now, it is not like the Wolverines fanbase is living rent-free in Finebaum's head, but clearly they have made more of an impact than he cares to admit.
Also, to try and say that Michigan only won half a championship in 2023 is totally insane. The Wolverines won that championship, and it ended the SEC reign over college football and began the Big Ten's. Finebaum has always believed that the SEC is king, so no wonder he doesn't like Michigan fans because they aren't a part of his precious conference in the South.
Michigan fans haven't been all that wild the last few seasons, especially with the Wolverines not having much success on the field. The time when Michigan fans get really rowdy is when The Game comes around, and that is simply just the power of the rivalry. It's not the fans' fault that the Wolverines are continually relevant when it comes to college football, just like Alabama, Georgia, and other big teams that have been around for a while.
Finebaum should just stick to talking about his precious SEC schools and leave those in the Big Ten alone. This was a stray that was not needed from Finebaum at the Michigan fanbase and typically won't quiet them down; it will only light a fire underneath them.
