Michigan football fans were already excited for EA Sports College Football 26, the video game which is coming out this week.

The deluxe edition is available today with the normal edition of the game being released on July 10th. The 2025 version, at least from my perspective, was awesome.

Yet, with Michigan football signing Bryce Underwood in the 2025 class, U-M fans have even more reason to be excited about the game, since it will feature Underwood as Michigan's starting quarterback.

Yet, more details are coming out about the game. One that has Michigan football fans excited is the fact that EA Sports College Football 26 includes "Mr. Brightside," a song by The Killers, which has become a tradition in the Big House.

"Mr. Brightside" means different things to different people. But it's been popular in the Big House since 2016.

It became one of the defining songs you hear at a Michigan football game. It also took on greater meaning after the 2021 win over Ohio State.

The song about jealousy jives with how Michigan fans felt about the rivalry against Ohio State. Michigan hadn't won "The Game" in a decade. That ended with the 42-27 win over the Buckeyes that season. It hasn't stopped as Michigan tacked on three more wins after that, including last season's 13-10 triumph in Columbus.

I know when I hear that song, I think about the breakthrough Michigan experienced in the 2021 season. Regardless, this clip, from Eric Ray, highlighting the song in the game, will give you chills.
