Michigan has finally added a dynamic wide receiver from the transfer portal, as former Texas wideout Jaime Ffrench has committed to the Wolverines.
The former five-star recruit didn't play a ton for Texas last season, seeing time in just four games. However, the former top-100 recruit was ranked 44th overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings when he signed with Texas.
Ffench will have a lot to prove with the Wolverines. However, it's not like he has to be the No. 1 wide receiver. Michigan football already has that in Andrew Marsh, who has agreed to terms to return next season.
On that front, this is also great news. Marsh was recruiting Ffrech to join the Michigan football program. The former Florida high school recruit is friends with Marsh, so if there was any doubt about the freshman All-American coming back, there shouldn't be.
Now, the Wolverines have Marsh and Ffrech. Travis Johnson has also signed as a top-125 overall recruit, and Michigan isn't done, at least is the expert projections are to be believed.
J.J. Buchanan has been on the radar of Michigan football. He's a wide receiver/tight end, and would be another major addition if the Wolverines can land his commitment.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound tight end would add some size the receiver room, even if he's playing tight end. He averaged 71 yards per game in the last three games of the 2025 season for Utah. That would be another big-time addition.
U-M needs to close with him, just like it did with Ffrench.
